Solverboard Social – some interesting reading

Happy woman on beach - Solverboard Social

As you will have no doubt have seen from this blog, we are currently working (among other things) on Solverboard Social – our way of harnessing our open innovation platform to tackle challenges that will make the world a better place.

People have always tackled global challenges in one form or another, but it’s only relatively recently that advances in communications and technology have given us the opportunity to collaborate and share with people all over the world in this way. This means there’s a wealth of exciting resources and information to draw on already in this area – we’ve posted a few of the ones we’ve found useful below for you. Hope you enjoy them!

Stanford Social Innovation Review – Magazine published by the Stanford Centre on Philanthropy and Civil Society, covering cross-sector solutions to global problems.

OpenIDEO – IDEO’s open platform designing solutions to global challenges.

The Singularity University – and its publishing arm, the Singularity Hub. The Singularity University is “a benefit corporation that provides educational programs, innovative partnerships and a startup accelerator to help individuals, businesses, institutions, investors, NGOs and governments understand cutting-edge technologies, and how to utilise these technologies to positively impact billions of people.

NESTA – the UK’s innovation foundation, helping people and organisations bring great ideas to life.

The Global Challenges Research Fund – a £1.5 billion fund announced by the UK Government to support cutting-edge research that addresses the challenges faced by developing countries.

The World Economic Forum’s 10 Global Challenges – 10 key global challenges that, if they are to be addressed, require cooperation from the public and private sectors.
